It’s a great time to be looking at buying a Nissan. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded three 2017 Nissans with its highest honor, the Top Safety Pick Plus rating.
The three vehicles singled out by IIHS were the 2017 Nissan Altima, Rogue and Maxima. It’s a huge honor from a well-respected safety organization, one that not many vehicles earn.
If you’re concerned about safety, going with any of the three following options is an excellent idea.
2017 Nissan Altima
Plenty of safety features are loaded into each version of the 2017 Nissan Altima. For example, the standard Nissan Advanced Air Bag System includes dual-stage supplemental front bags, front seat-mounted side bags, and roof-mounted side curtains that cover both rows of seating for improved head protection in a side impact or rollover. Plenty of other safety-related technologies are standard, or can be added to the sedan.
2017 Nissan Maxima
The 2017 Nissan Maxima is a technological wonder. It comes with quite a few advanced aids as part of the standard equipment for all models, plus others that can be added.
One of the systems is Predictive Forward Collision Warning, which tells the driver through an audible and visual warning if another vehicle ahead in the same lane suddenly hits its brakes. It works with the Forward Emergency Braking system, so if you don’t hit the brake pedal, the car can stop itself.
2017 Nissan Rogue
As a family vehicle, you can stretch out with three rows. On top of that, the 2017 Nissan Rogue is incredibly safe. Nissan includes some pretty impressive technologies on the crossover as a way to prevent accidents.
One is a blind spot warning as well as rear cross-traffic alert, which work using radar. They can literally detect vehicles you cannot possibly see, like a car in the next lane that’s in your blind spot. Or they can tell if a vehicle is approaching as you’re backing out of a spot, even if there are walls or cement pillars blocking it from view.
